China Residencies is excited to announce the third open call for “Two to Three 二到三”, a program which will send two to three Australian artists to China for 4-8 weeks on funded residencies (covering flights, visa, accommodation, and a stipend) at partner organizations in second and third tier cities.  

To qualify, applicant must:

  • - Be an Australian citizen or current resident in Australia 
  • - Be available for a 4-8 week residency period between December 2016 and February 2017
  • - Have previously visited China

  • There are no restrictions on age, ethnicity, background, or medium of artistic practice. Curators, writers, choreographers, composers, designers, filmmakers & more are all welcome to apply.

Our two partner residencies this year are CEAC & Organhaus:

CEAC (the Chinese European Art Center) is the oldest residency in China, hosting artists working in all mediums on the southern island of Xiamen. Residency dates: December 20th 2016 - February 19th 2017

Organhaus is an artist-run space in the central city of Chongqing, with a focus on nurturing emerging experimental and mutli-media artists. Residency dates: February 1 - March  31 2017

Application fees are not required, however we are requesting a suggested donation of USD$25 to support administrative costs for this initiative. Applications are due by midnight in your local timezone on November 7th, 2016.
